Maple Leaf Garden Signed Program and Seat
With the closing of Maple Leafs Gardens in 1999, I went to look for pieces of memorabilia for my collection. Instead of purchasing anything for myself, I ended up bidding on items for colleagues who were working that day. I was able to get a turn style for Stephanie but had the opportunity to get my program and bidding card signed by many of the alumni that were there that day including Eddie Shack and Ken Dryden.
I did get to purchase a gold seat from Maple Leaf Gardens as a former colleague of mine from Dome Productions (John S.) was a season ticket holder so was offered the opportunity to purchase the seat for around $800. He discussed this with his wife and they both said, what crazy person would pay that for a beat-up seat. They both in unison said Wayne. I received the call the next day and took their paperwork to retrieve it. Currently I have been able to get approx. 70 former Leaf’s to sign the seat over the years.
