Jerome Iginla 3 ft Bobblehead
While working with Sportsnet, I was asked to fly to Calgary to present the Calgary Flames on ice before the game with a cheque from Rogers for their 25th Anniversary. While there I visited the store and noticed a 3 foot Jerome Iginla bobblehead. As he was my daughter and my favorite player, I thought that would look good in our basement. It was also my daughters 10th birthday so thought he (the 3 ft signed bobblehead) can attend the birthday party. I told the young lady in the store if she could get Jerome to sign it, I would purchase it. She checked with management and was told that would not be a problem. They will ship it to me at Sportsnet in Toronto once it is signed. I was told it would be left in the coaches office (Sutter) and when he gets a chance probably after their next road trip, he would get Jerome to sign it. Once he saw that in his office, he had Jerome sign it immediately (as he didn’t want it in his office for very long) and it was actually shipped the next day.
I specifically told the Flames to ship via ground as it would be over $400 shipping for next day air and under $50 by ground. I flew back the next day and got a message from my executive assistant (Gloria) that there was a heavy parcel from Calgary waiting for me at CTV shipping department. I was freaking out as I was not expecting it that fast by ground and new it had to have come by air. To this day, I do not know how it got to Toronto so fast as the bill from shipping was around $40 which I happily paid.
