TSN Team Canada Collector's Edition Magazine and Sportsnet First Magazine Launch
TSN launched their Team Canada Collector Edition magazine in 2002 and had public appearances by Bobby Clark, Dale Hawerchuk, and Pierre MaGuire. I volunteered to be part of it as I also thought I could get one of the Magazines signed by the 3 of them. It turned out to be a very busy launch and a lot of hard work but was definitely worth it to meet the players and get their autograph on a magazine at the end.
In 2011, Sportsnet launched its first magazine and one of the distributions was at a ball hockey event to raise money for Princess Margaret Hospital. “Hockey to Conquer Cancer”. The magazine was distributed and players and coaches like Derek Sanderson, Ron Ellis, and Scotty Bowman were there to sign autographs. Between games, I would skip the food lines and get the magazine signed.
