Stories About Pin Trading Events From Vancouver, Calgary and Atlanta

Most of my pin collection from the Olympics (from Montreal in 1976 to today comes from attending annual pin trading shows in Calgary and Vancouver. Calgary was my main destination as the Calgary Pin Club was set-up and was a go to event on Labour day to see all the crazy collectors like myself to trade pins. I don’t want to talk about packing over 2,000 in a suitcase and going through security. Calgary was a fun place as I was able to meet up with my regulars Bill, Harvey, Mark, Paul after for some pizza and wings but then hitting the casino later in the night with Bill who taught me to play poker which I still won’t forgive him.

Once the Vancouver Olympics in 2010 commenced, the Vancouver Pin Club was formed and it became a new destination for me. I would also attend the Olympin annual event which is really the World Organizing Pin Club. I met a lot of collectors from around the world at these annual events and of course Atlanta hosted some very big shows. Atlanta was my favorite as that is where the World of Coca Cola resides and I was able to pick up unique coca cola items.
