Savannah 1996 Pin Set
My daughter was born in 1996 and because the Olympics were in Atlanta and I was working on getting our Dome Production trucks out there, I thought naming her Atlanta would be a neat idea. My wife didn’t have the same enthusiasm over the name but we ended up compromising and naming her Savannah where the sailing events were to take place. (Savannah Georgia)
Because I became a big pin collector by that time, if you read my story from the Calgary Olympic Framed Accreditation and Collection, I decided I would collect as many Savannah Olympic pins they had and frame it with a picture of my daughter in the Centre. To this day, I have offered my daughter this framed set and it's now close to 26 years and she makes me hang on to it. I did convince her in Disney World back in 2004 that Pin trading was a lot of fun and she looked forward every day to trading with the staff. Yes, I stocked up on Disney traders before leaving for Disney World as I knew all staff wore lanyards of pins that they had to trade.
