Marcus Stroman Bobblehead Day 2015
This is kind of a sad or funny story depending on how you look at it. I have been collecting Blue Jays bobbleheads from day 1. I never missed a bobblehead giveaway day at the SkyDome or Rogers Centre. I would usually go with my daughter or father or more recently my buddy Rick to each game. Before 2015, there were not a lot of collectors so line ups were never anything to worry about or even getting there too early.
Well that year 2015 as it turned out, I needed to have an operation due to cancer. It was 2 weeks later after my surgery that I was looking forward to 2 things. (Bobblehead day and writing my 6 hour CFP exam). I otherwise was in very good heath and fitness so I believed this would not deter me from writing the exam and attending Marcus Stroman Bobblehead day a week and a half later. Other than family most of my friends didn’t even know I was having this operation and would not have known if I didn’t actually tell them later.
The funny part of this story was I was determined to attend even though I was still wearing a catheter and I believe still had a blood drain tube coming from my upper stomach.
I had a great time at the game but was very tired after so looked forward to getting home for a good rest.
