Dave Winfield TSN Signed Bat
I received this Dave Winfield signed TSN World Series bat as a gift from the former legal counsel of Netstar. He was a colleague of mine and we became friends over the years. We even had his family over to our home for swimming days.
This bat was a TSN bat when they were the 1997 rights holder for the playoffs that was given out at a private function put on by TSN. I was not invited to the event, but Dave Winfield was there and he signed all the bats for the attendees. My friend said his 2 boys had no interest and thought it would be good with my collection.
The reason this specific bat rings out to me is when I was going through my divorce, their lawyers hired valuators that told them this bat was the most valuable in my collection. I offered to obtain a second one for them as I knew my friends at Glory Days had one at the time and was selling it for $125.
I just assume maybe the valuators thought it was a game used Dave Winfield bat that was used to hit a home run during the World Series as opposed to a generic bat signed by Dave Winfield.
