Wendel Clark Game Worn Jersey
I picked up the 1993 Wendel Clark game worn captains jersey at an auction at a Leafs Foundation event . There was no COA at that time but it had all the marks of being game used and was able to photo match it. I have met Wendel at many functions but he was doing a signing at AJ Sportsworld so I thought I would wear it in and get him to sign a COA for me.
As I approached, Wendel’s colleague said here’s another guy with one of those fake Jerseys. Wendel’s first response was, “no that’s the real thing”. He said he immediately could tell due to the custom stitching on the sleeve for fighting. I told him where I acquired it and we had a discussion why it meant a lot to me. The truth is I have one or two favorite players on each team and Wendel was one of my favorite Leafs just as Delgado, Halladay, and Alomar for the Jays.
