Wayne Gretzky 1985 and 1988 Stanley Cup
At the time of this writing these 2 Stanley Cups remain unsigned. I had an opportunity a number of years ago when Frameworth was hosting a dinner to get them signed. They were having a private signing so needed to get your items in the day before the dinner.
I was talking to my friends at From Hockey to Hollywood (Glen) and he mentioned he would be meeting up with Wayne Gretzky at his restaurant down the street much before the Frameworth dinner so I brought my Stanley Cups to him as he said he would get them done. I called him the day before the dinner and asked if they were signed. It turned out Wayne when he came in that day just didn’t have time to sign anything, I rushed down to King and John to pick up the cups and raced over to Frameworth to make their deadline.
When I arrived at Frameworth the guys said Gretzky signed everything a day earlier as he did not want to sign anything at the dinner and no exceptions can be made.
So yes, this is still an outstanding item for me. Although I have many more items for him to sign to go along with the dozen items I already have. (Car, 2010 Torch-Real and Birks, 12” McFarlane, Small Statue, etc.
