Gregg Zaun’s Game Worn Mask

Every year on the last weekend of the baseball season, the Jays would hold their annual Garage Sale in the stadium. It was my favorite time of the year as they used to have some pretty spectacular items back in the early days. Somewhere around 2012 at the garage sale was Gregg Zaun's original mask that he more with the Jays. After meeting Gregg a number of times at events, I took the mask over to him to get it signed as he was doing his regular baseball analysis between innings on level one of the Rpgers Centre.

He was sitting with Hazel in the Sportsnet Studio as Jamie was on holidays that week. He asked me where I got that helmet. I told him just now at the Jays Garage Sale. He asked me what I paid and I said $100. He said WHAT??, it cost me $700 just to get it painted like that. And we both laughed. Then I had Hazel who I had worked with for a number of years when she was doing the morning show at Sportsnet take a photo of Gregg, myself and the helmet. Hazel was always such a sweetheart and it was great when she returned to Sportsnet.

Caught up with Hazel at a 2018 Charity event “Trivia to Conquer Cancer "  event at Dave and Busters put on by Frozen Pond. We had the opportunity to catch up and I had her sign an 8 by 10 personalized to me as her favorite Bean Counter. (yes, of course I got her to sign her bobblehead as well)
