Team Canada 1972 Signed Print including Ken Dryden Ratelle and Orr

The 1972 print was another long project to complete all the autographs as there were not a lot of appearances by Orr, Ratelle, and Dryden.

I remember Ken Dryden was going to be at the Carlu for the HHOF dinner in early 2000’s but also know he was not a fan of signing people memorabilia no matter who you were. It just so happened we were both signatories on the Leafs/Sportsnet 8 year Hockey Programming deal so he did know me.

I didn’t want to take a chance as I also know he liked to personalize any items he signed, like my Dryden bobblehead and Stanley Cup which I did not mind as he was the only autograph on those. The print had 35 signatures that were not personalized, so I preferred on this piece he did not personalize. So, I brought my respected colleague Scott M with me to talk to Ken and explained my crazy collection and he eventually signed my 16 by 20 Team Photo.

I did send him photos of my home the next day so he understood how really crazy I was.  I would have loved for him to sign my MLG Chair and Montreal Forum Chair but because I have a few dozen other player signature on each, that was not a priority at the time. But you see later in my discussions the Dryden 1972 bobblehead and 1971 Stanley Cup were a priority as he was the Conn Smythe Winner in 1971.
